SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake County District Attorney has charged Elleshia Anne Seymour, 35, with four counts of custodial interference, a third degree felony.

She is accused of taking her four children out of the state of Utah and fleeing the country.

Police were alerted to a possible problem when they received a request for a welfare check on Dec. 2, 2025, after two of Seymour’s colleagues said they hadn’t been in contact with her since Nov. 29, 2025.

Charging documents state that on Dec. 2, 2025, when officers arrived at 7684 S Gardner Stop Way, the door was unlocked and the apartment was empty. It was in the apartment that police said they found a notebook “containing plans to shred documents, discard phones, and take passports.”

At that time police initiated a missing persons investigation and learned that Seymour’s vehicle was parked at the Salt Lake City International Airport.

Police reportedly obtained video footage that shows Seymour and her four children entering the airport on Nov. 29. They boarded a one-way flight to Amsterdam. The flight eventually ended in Croatia.

A former boyfriend reportedly told police that Seymour “had recently discussed obtaining passports and leaving the country, expressing concerns about biblical events and the ‘end of times.'”

Charging documents state that Seymour left a voicemail for Kurt Brady on Dec. 2, claiming to be in France with the children.

Seymour shares custody of three children with her ex-husband, Kendall Seymour, and shares custody of one child with ex-husband Kurt Brady.

As KSL previously reported, the children are ages 3, 7, 8, and 11.

Police have still not found Seymour or the children. They said they believe she has no intention of bringing them back to Utah.
