15-year-old teen found wounded after possible drive-by shooting in West Jordan, police say

WEST JORDAN — A 15-year-old teen is in the hospital after they were found in West Jordan late Wednesday night with a gunshot wound, police say.

According to West Jordan police, a 911 caller reported someone had been wounded near 3400 West and Speed Skate Circle. It was unclear if the caller was the victim, or a different person.

When officers arrived, they found the 15-year-old wounded from at least one gunshot. Officers were unable to provide the teen’s condition as of Thursday morning.

Police believe the shots may have been fired during a possible drive-by shooting near the area. Officers said the incident was isolated, and there was no danger to the community.

Officers encouraged anyone with information about the shooting or its surrounding events to call the non-emergency line at 801-840-4000.
