SALT LAKE CITY — What started as a road rage incident ended Tuesday evening when a man was taken into custody.
West Jordan Police were called about a person brandishing a firearm in the area of Yellowwood and Callerey Lanes around 6 p.m.
Officer Carpenter with the West Jordan Police Department said a man had barricaded himself inside a residence at 6790 W. Callery Lane.
When it appeared that the suspect would not cooperate with police, Carpenter said a shelter-in-place was issued for homes in the immediate vicinity.
As a precaution, Carpenter said, the SWAT team was called. However, officers were later able to take the man into custody “without incident.”
The shelter-in-place lasted for around 50 minutes, and had been lifted at the time of publication.
