WASHINGTON, Washington County — A woman was found dead inside a vacation home in Washington Sunday, according to the Washington Police Department.
Washington officials said officers responded to a call near the 1200 block of North Bello Aly just before noon. Cleaners of the vacation rental property had called, saying there was a woman inside the building who was possibly dead.
Upon arrival, officers said they found the woman on the floor of the vacation rental with multiple stab wounds. She was confirmed dead at the scene.
On Monday, the police department said the woman was a 47-year-old who traveled from California and was staying at the vacation rental for about three days.
Police investigating two people of interest in vacation rental death
Police said investigators have identified two people of interest involved in this death but are not naming them due to this being an ongoing investigation.
“These individuals fled the scene in the victim’s rental vehicle, which has since been located and is undergoing processing by law enforcement in a neighboring state,” the department said in a press release. “Currently, the persons of interest remain at large.”
Police believe the two people of interest are not considered dangerous to the public.
