KAUAI, Hawaii — For the first time since his wife was arrested, Chad Daybell has spoken to the media about JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, the two missing Idaho kids who have not been since at least September.

ABC News reporter Marcus Moore found Daybell at a Hawaiian gas station, where he gave sparse comments about the ongoing case of his two missing stepchildren from Idaho, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan.

Daybell’s new wife, Lori Vallow, is being held in Hawaii on a $5-million  bail.

When asked if the missing Idaho kids are all right, Daybell told Moore that he couldn’t comment. He added, he is grateful for the support from those that believe they’ve done no wrong.

“Is there anything that you would like to say to people at all, who are number one, concerned about the kids, or concerned about you and your wife?” Moore asked Daybell.

“I’m grateful for any support and the legal system will have to work through,” he replied.

When asked if the children are okay, Daybell’s only response was, “No comment.”

Mom of 2 missing Idaho children arrested in Hawaii

Newly released court documents allege Vallow’s niece may know what happened to the kids. The niece’s ex-husband claims Vallow belongs to a cult where “multiple adults and children have been killed off like flies.” Those documents also claim Daybell reportedly told one person his wife doesn’t have children.

JJ and Tylee have not been seen since last September and Vallow refused an Idaho court order to produce the children.  She is now charged with felony desertion of a minor, obstruction of law enforcement, contempt of court, and criminal solicitation of a crime for trying to convince someone to hinder an investigation.

Vallow is due back in court Wednesday to request her bail be reduced.  Her first request to lower the amount to $10,000 was rejected by a judge.  She is also fighting extradition back to Idaho.

UPDATE 02/26/2020 5:30pm

Lori Vallow elected to waive extradition.  That means she will be transported back to Idaho where her children were last seen in September 2019.

The judge also refused to lower her 5-million dollar bail.  Kaua’i Prosecuting Attorney Justin Kollar told the judge “Nothing has changed about this case since we last discussed bail several days ago.”

At a hearing last week, prosecutors said Vallow was a flight risk and requested she be held without bail.
