Taylorsville police take vehicle theft suspect into custody

TAYORSVILLE, Utah — Taylorsville police took a male in his early 20s early into custody Wednesday morning following an alleged car theft.
According to police, they received a call at 12:20 a.m. of a stolen vehicle on the road at 5400 South 2200 West.
Authorities were able to follow the vehicle in an unmarked police car until spikes could be set up. Police say they were able to spike the vehicle, and it began to flee.
The suspect ditched the vehicle at 6200 South 4800 West and attempted to flee on foot. However, he was taken into custody without incident following a short pursuit, police say.
Authorities also say that the suspect has multiple priors for stolen vehicles.
