No one hurt by wrong way driver Monday in Davis County

FARMINGTON, Utah — There was another wrong-way driving incident Monday afternoon, this time in Davis County, the Utah Highway Patrol said.
The UHP says around 3:30 p.m. an alert was sent out of a vehicle going the wrong way on SR-89 in Farmington, and then again on I-15 near Centerville.
According to the Centerville Police Department, a silver Honda Accord was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes on I-15 from SR-89 in Farmington.

The UHP attempted to stop the vehicle on two different occasions but was unsuccessful. Finally, an officer with the Centerville Police Department used a P.I.T maneuver to forcefully stop the vehicle.
The maneuver forced the Honda against the guardrail on the ramp to I-15. Centerville police said the officer then tried to block the Honda driver’s path. However, the Honda tried to drive around the patrol vehicle.
The Centerville police officer had the driver removed from the car at gunpoint when the UHP arrived on the scene.
The driver was taken into custody for investigation of a DUI. The UHP says the onramp was shut down for 30 minutes.
There were no reports of injuries.
