UPDATE: Flat Line Fire activity slows

UPDATE: May 23, 7:20 a.m.
On Sunday, Utah Fire Info said the Flat Line Fire’s activity had slowed. It reported the fire as being at 5% containment.
Additionally, Utah Fire Info confirmed that the fire was human-caused and was under investigation.
Fire personnel was left overnight to keep the perimeter of the fire secured.

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — UPDATE: Utah Fire Info says that the Flat Line Fire has grown to an estimated 85 acres.
Additionally, it reports that SR 40 will close while a heavy air tanker assists with ground resources. The roadway will close as the tanker drops retardant.

ORIGINAL COVERAGE: A brush fire, called the Flat Line Fire, broke out in Wasatch County north of Midway Sunday evening.

According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, the fire is near State Route 40 Mile Post 11.
Wasatch Fire estimates the blaze to be 50 acres in size. Additionally, it said it is believed to be human-caused.
The brush fire does not currently threaten any structures but is having an effect on SR 40, two miles north of Heber, in both directions. The roadway remains open at this time.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office is advising that people avoid the area.
