SALT LAKE CITY — A Delta Air Lines flight heading to Minnesota Friday night had to turn around and return to Salt Lake City International Airport due to an issue with an engine.
Delta flight 1073 had just left for Minneapolis when an issue with an engine happened. The flight landed safely back in Salt Lake City.
“It had some engine issues,” said Nancy Volmer, spokesperson for Salt Lake City International, to KSL. “What those were, I don’t know.”
On Saturday, Delta Air Lines issued a statement regarding the incident.
“Delta flight 1073 from Salt Lake City to Minneapolis on Friday July 8 returned safely to Salt Lake City shortly after departure to address an engine performance issue with one of the engines,” a statement from a Delta spokesman read. “While we apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels, the safety of our customers and people remains Delta’s most important priority.”
The flight continued onto Minneapolis Saturday morning. Delta says that all the passengers were accommodated.
