Crash on I-15 in Orem leaves one dead

kOREM, Utah — Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday a crash occurred on I-15 Southbound milepost 268, leaving one dead.
Utah Department of Public Safety says a Volkswagen Golf, traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a Nissan passenger car from behind. Then, both vehicles lost control and struck a concrete barrier.
After both cars spun several hundred feet down the roadway and came to a stop, the single occupant of the Volkswagen stepped out of the car. Witnesses of the accident say the driver then asked for help before collapsing to the ground. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan received minor injuries, says Utah Highway Patrol.
The accident is still under investigation, impairment is a possible cause.
