SALT LAKE CITY — New snow has brought a new ski lift to Snowbasin ski resort.
The resort itself has accumulated 131 inches of snow this season, with just 5 inches of fresh powder last night.
For skiers, the snow is a gift that keeps on giving. Soon they can enjoy it with Snowbasin’s new six-person “high-speed” lift. Coined, “DeMoisy Express”
Named after DeMoisy Peak, the mountain top it rests under, it will be Snowbasin’s 13th lift.
The DeMoisy Express will service the Strawberry area of the resort, near the existing Strawberry Gondola bottom terminal. Once at the top the lift will drop passengers off in a wind-protected area above Dan’s Run.
The resort said the lift will bring benefits including the creation of new trails, more convenient access to the main base area and relief of congestion in the Strawberry area on the resort’s busier days.
“To say that both the Snowbasin staff and loyal guests will be excited about this lift announcement may be the understatement of the year,” said Vice President and General Manager of Snowbasin Davy Ratchford in a press release.
“We cannot wait for our guests to experience the benefits of the new DeMoisy Express. This new lift should significantly enhance our beloved locals’ skiing and riding experience and allow new guests to experience exceptional terrain easier and faster than ever before,” said Ratchford.
Expect to see DeMoisy Peak up and running for the 2023-2024 season.
