SALT LAKE CITY — Not only can riders hop on UTA TRAX trains for free this week during the NBA All-Star Weekend, they will also get a free show on the Blue Line.
The Downtown Alliance is teaming up with the Utah Transit Authority. They will provide comedians, musicians, singers and magicians to entertain the crowds as they travel between the Gallivan and Gateway stations between 6pm and 10pm. There will be different performers from Feb. 17-19 in each car of the train, so know one’s left out.
A few of the acts include, Rebecca Kerr, Cassie White, Brad Armstrong, Lin Flores and Medicine Love. A full list of performers, what time you can see them and in which cars, can be found at the JOYMOB website.
UTA Train ‘hosts’ will also be on hand to answer tourist questions and direct people to events and restaurants.
Along with train entertainment, the Downtown Alliance will have surprise Flashmobs. Look out for those wearing LED suits and a fire show from 6-8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Gallivan Plaza. Music and food trucks will round out the all-star activities.
