A snowmobiler that was buried by an avalanche in Pole Canyon near Lewiston Peak on Monday was recovered late Monday night. (Adam Small, KSL NewsRadio)

CEDAR FORT, Utah — The Utah County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that rescuers found a body of a man who was buried by an avalanche on Monday.

 

KSL TV reports that Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the missing snowmobiler was found in more than 22 feet of snow.

The avalanche occurred in Pole Canyon near Lewiston Peak in the northwest portion of Cedar Fort. 

KSL TV reports that the snowmobiler was found with equipment designed to help find people buried by an avalanche.

The name of the victim has not been released. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
