UDOT grant to boost the availability of EV charging stations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Electric vehicle owners can look forward to a steady increase in the availability of electric car charging stations throughout Utah. Jona Whitesides with Rocky Mountain Power says the Inflation Reduction Act is one reason why.
Whitesides says he expects to see an expansion of 20 charging locations along the Wasatch Front and in rural areas in Moab and along the I-15 corridor.
“There is going to be a grant that’s been administered by the Utah Department of Transportation. Part of that is to increase the charging infrastructure throughout the states, across the nation and so Utah being one of those.”
According to Whitesides, Rocky Mountain Power in partnership with Electrify America, aim to build 20 charging stations over the next year and a half.
