Elder Jeffrey R. Holland announces slow return to church assignments

SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced a slow return to church assignments Tuesday morning.
After having been away from Church assignments for several weeks due to some serious health challenges, I am pleased to begin slowly returning to work. Elder Holland has been absent from church assignments since April 6. At that time, the First Presidency excused him for at least two months. Recently, he has been recovering from COVID-19 and has had dialysis for a kidney condition.
Due to health concerns, Elder Holland did not speak in April’s general conference. He was also excused from being the keynote speaker at the commencement exercises at Southern Utah University.
