Inmate at Weber County Jail found dead in cell

OGDEN, Utah — The Weber County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate at the Weber County Jail was found dead in their cell last week.
According to a press release, the inmate was found unresponsive in their cell on July 21 at around 5:45 p.m.
The Weber County Attorney’s Office is leading the investigation. The investigation will follow the Weber County Critical Incident Protocol.
The early portion of the investigation shows the inmate suffered a medical emergency.
No other details were released.
