Jeremy Lawl told KSL that he was in the intersection across the road from the crash site.
“I pulled up at Airport Road and 78th, and I noticed the plane crash right there in the middle of the road, with the gentleman just laying out in the middle of the road,” he said.
Lawl said that he and another man attempted CPR on the victim.
“By the time that I got to him I didn’t see much life, and he really didn’t have much of a pulse.”
Casesar Rocha, who also witnessed the crash, says it was hard to miss.
“It was colorful and it caught my attention,” he said. “But I saw it do something weird. It kind of banked in a very weird way. And it just plummeted, straight down.”
As of Wednesday evening, authorities had not released the identity of the victim.
Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area as an investigation is conducted.
Due to continuing investigation, roads will remain closed for several hours. West Jordan drivers should avoid 7800 South/Airport Road and Copper Hills Pkwy. https://t.co/FHCgl8pc1J
