DRAPER, Utah — A motorcyclist died in a crash in Draper overnight. According to Sgt. Simons with the Draper Police Department, the accident happened at approximately 14000 South Minuteman Drive around 1:20 a.m.
Simons said the motorcyclist had fled multiple agencies at a high rate of speed.
“Those agencies shut down their pursuit, but this same motorcycle kept popping up in different places,” he said. The victim was later found deceased.
“One of our officers happened upon the crash, [and] that the rider was found deceased. We’re still in the process of getting in touch with the family. Obviously, at night, it’s harder to do that.”
According to Simons it appeared the motorcyclist attempted to turn or navigate a curve, likely at a high speed but was unsuccessful and crashed.
No other vehicles were involved. The crash is still under investigation.
