Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle crash in Sandy

SANDY, Utah — A man is dead after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Saturday morning.
Sandy Police say the crash took place on northbound 1300 E. at 10600 S.
Sgt. Greg Moffitt said they got a call about the crash just after 6 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man in his 20s who had died from the accident. He said they’re not sure yet if the man was wearing a helmet when he crashed.
“There’s a helmet on the scene,” Moffitt said. “But we’re not sure if at this moment if he was wearing his helmet, that’s part of the investigation.”
Moffit said the accident reconstruction team was called to the scene and will continue investigating the cause of this accident.
The road 1300 E. from 10400 S. to 10600 S. is closed as police investigate.
