GRANTSVILLE, Utah — Grantsville police say an elderly woman died Wednesday after a two-vehicle accident in Tooele County.
According to Grantsville City Police Lt. Jeff Watson the crash occurred on SR-112 near milepost 2 in Grantsville at 1:50 p.m.
He says a husband was towing his wife in another vehicle and were headed eastbound toward Tooele. For reasons unknown, Watson says the vehicle being pulled lost control and swung into oncoming traffic. The vehicle struck a westbound vehicle. The victim died on impact.
The other vehicle flipped onto its top, according to Watson. A woman driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The husband of the victim was not injured, nor was there any damage to the vehicle he was driving. Watson also tells KSL that impairment doesn’t appear to have been an issue. But he isn’t sure how fast the two cars were traveliing at the time of the crash.
