Lauren McCluskey: 5 years after her murder

Many felt the university failed to protect McCluskey after it was reported that she asked campus police for help on several occasions.

Since that time, McCluskey’s parents, Jill and Matt McCluskey, settled a suit with the U for the wrongful death of their daughter. 

In the wake of McCluskey’s death, the University of Utah saw pressure to make changes to how universities handle similar cases. Additionally, the family started the Lauren McClusky Foundation to bring awareness to dating violence.
