One killed in Spanish Fork Canyon crash

SPANISH FORK, Utah — A crash in Spanish Fork Canyon killed one person and injured another Thursday morning.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, the crash happened on SR-6 around 9 a.m. The UHP said the driver of an SUV crossed into the wrong lanes of traffic and hit a FedEx truck head-on.
The woman driving the SUV died from her injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the truck was also severely injured and has been hospitalized.
Both directions of SR-6 remain closed at the mouth of the canyon and Thistle Junction, but the UHP expects them to reopen soon.
