SALT LAKE CITY — Weber Fire District and Weber County Sheriff’s Department helped to save a dog’s life after it was trapped in a car that was involved in a car accident.
Weber Fire District wrote in a post on its Facebook page that it was called out to an accident on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred at 1900 West and 2100 South in West Haven. The accident reportedly included two vehicles.
While all occupants of the vehicles were able to get out of their vehicles, there was one problem. A dog was trapped in one of the cars.
WFD stated it was able to get the dog out with the help of their Heavy Rescue Unit.
Firefighters said they quickly brought the dog to a vet ER because of the dog’s condition.
“The Weber Fire District’s Heavy Rescue Unit, HL66, began extrication,” Weber Fire wrote on a Facebook post. “They worked quickly and precisely to access and remove the dog. Due to the dog’s condition, crews transported him to a vet ER via Heavy Ladder 66.”
From there, a vet was able to take over.
According to WFD, the vet told the firefighters they saved the dog’s life because of how quickly they worked to get the dog out and to the vet.
