First Lady Abby Cox undergoes surgery, now in recovery

SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Spencer Cox’s office announced that First Lady Abby Cox underwent surgery this morning. She is currently in recovery.
According to a statement from Jon Pierpont, the chief of staff for Gov. Cox, “the First Lady looks forward to a speedy recovery.”
The press release said Cox’s surgery was to remove degenerative discs in her neck.
“The first family is grateful to the surgeons, doctors, and staff at the University of Utah for their attention and care, and appreciates the prayers and support from so many Utahns,” said Pierpont.
