The state of Idaho charged Daybell with the first-degree murder of his late wife Tammy Daybell. He also faces first-degree murder charges for the deaths of Lori Vallow Daybell’s children, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.
Daybell is currently married to Vallow Daybell. In 2022, a jury convicted Vallow Daybell of murdering her children and conspiring to murder Tammy Daybell.
The state decided to rest after spending the morning with its last witness, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Doug Hart.
Hart previously worked as an agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and investigated the disappearances of Tylee and JJ starting in November 2019.
Pitts reported from the courtroom that Hart’s testimony focused on messages sent from Daybell and Vallow Daybell before and after Tammy Daybell and the children’s deaths.
