SALT LAKE CITY — The national anthem is hard to sing, but there’s a solution. It is not to reframe the song as a torch ballad.
Fergie with that fail at the NBA All-Star Game. But still way better than R. Kelly at a heavyweight fight on TV.
I could be wrong… but I don’t think you’re supposed to clap during the national anthem.
By the way, he has dancers. Dancers for the national anthem. He’s in prison now of course. But Olympian Carl Lewis is still free after murdering the anthem.
Michael Bolton forgot the words.
He had to check his notes… for the national anthem.
But there’s a solution.
At a Baltimore Orioles game this week a whistler performed the anthem. Perfectly.
No stressing about the rockets gallantly streaming. No words. And no sweating out the high notes.
Now if you watch it, don’t be alarmed. At Orioles games, O’s fans all shout when they get to “OH say does that star-spangled banner.” It’s like their thing.
But this guy’s good, right? And there is the magnificent solution to a botched anthem.
