SALT LAKE CITY — Utah leaders wanting to host the 2034 Olympics in Salt Lake City have tackled another big hurdle on Wednesday after presenting their plan to the full International Olympic Committee board for the first time.

According to the president of the Salt Lake City Utah Committee for the Games, Fraser Bullock, the presentation went well.
“We believe we’re in excellent shape, but until the vote is taken, we are absolutely 100% focused on every element of our bid and making sure we do the absolute best we can,” Bullock said.
Bullock said this was a private and very technical meeting. The IOC went through every single detail of the plan to host the 2034 Winter Games with the committee.
“This presentation is the result of years of work and steps that we were able to be introduced to the full IOC membership for the first time [Wednesday],” Bullock said.
Bullock said they walked through everything from finances to transportation plans. Although the meeting was technical and detailed, Bullock said the committee received a warm reception at the meeting.
The next big hurdle for Utah leaders comes when the IOC votes on July 24 on whether or not to accept Utah’s bid. Bullock said the committee is just putting the finishing touches on their presentation, another presentation that will happen on the day of the vote.
“I would say the bottom line is that we’re a great candidate for 2034 to host the world,” Bullock said.
KSL NewsRadio will have full coverage of that vote on July 24.
