SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Gov. Spencer Cox will not vote for former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election. During an interview on CNN Wednesday night Cox said he would “write somebody in” and noted he has not voted for the top of the ticket since 2012.
“I’ve certainly had my concerns, one of those is what happened on January 6. I’m hopeful. I want my party to win. They chose a candidate this time around that was not my first choice… the party spoke and that’s who they have chosen,” Cox told journalist Kaitlan Collins during an interview on CNN’s The Source.
Utah’s Republican Gov. Spencer Cox says he won’t vote for Donald Trump in 2024, as he didn’t in 2020 or 2016. “I’m not going to vote for either presidential candidate this year. I’ll write somebody in, as I’ve done in the past.” pic.twitter.com/psvn6UfIZR

Additionally, Cox said he will not vote for either presidential candidate.
“I do want Donald Trump to succeed. I want my party to win. We desperately need the right people in the right positions. I’m very anxious for who he picks as vice president, that’s going to make a big difference.”
Although Cox has not voted for the former president, earlier this year he did predict his victory in 2024.
According to KSL.com, Cox said the border issues will cost President Joe Biden the election.
“If we don’t see a change from the president … and his administration — I think he’s making a huge mistake; it’s going to cost him the election, just to be very clear,” Cox said. “He will lose because of this, and because of age — but they’re both old.”
