2-year-old girl found in a canal in Logan pronounced dead, police say

LOGAN, Utah — A 2-year-old girl was found in a canal near Ellis Elementary School in Logan, police say.

Family reported a missing child near 100 West 400 North. Officers received the call shortly after 6:30 p.m.

After searching the area for about 20 minutes, they located the child in a canal nearby. They pulled out the child and performed life-saving efforts.

The child was transported to a hospital where further life-saving efforts were made. Despite continued efforts, the child was ultimately pronounced dead.
