SALT LAKE CITY — Utah State University added 1,000 seats back to its student section at Maverik Stadium, just in time for its big game against the Utes on Saturday.
Students expressed their frustration last week when the school announced that it would take 1,000 seats from the student section to sell to the public at a higher price.
Members of the HURD, USU’s student-led athletics organization, expressed their disappointment in this decision. They said that the school didn’t consult any students in Student Affairs or the Student Involvement Office.
Now, the university has changed its mind. The school said it recognizes the importance of student support, KSL TV reported, and wants as many Aggies as possible to experience game-day excitement.
This is a developing story, check back for updates.
