UPDATE: Orem police said an 18-year old man along with a juvenile suspect turned themselves in after a shooting late Wednesday that left one person dead and two injured.

Police said Sydney Rodriguez and his juvenile brother have both been booked into the Utah County Jail on first-degree felony charges of aggravated murder as well as three counts of attempted aggravated murder, in addition to a charge of obstruction of justice.

OREM, Utah — Orem police say one person is dead and two people critically wounded from a shooting initially called out at 165 East 1780 North on Wednesday night. The shooting happened at a church near the canal trail.  They then responded to a separate location on State Street at 1200 North. It was there they found one person dead, and two wounded from gunfire.  One of the wounded was flown to a hospital.

Orem police dispatch told KSL Newsradio that all lanes of State Street in Orem had been closed in order to allow a LifeFlight helicopter to land.  The closure in response to the Orem shooting was on State Street between 1200 North and 1400 North.

Police said they are looking for at least one primary suspect, and also have a vague vehicle description of a white four-door passenger car. They’re asking anybody in the area of the shooting to check their doorbell cameras for footage that may help them learn more about the shooting.

Authorities said they believe drugs were involved and that the shooting may have involved people who knew each other.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
