Four teenagers in custody, accused in armed carjacking

FARMINGTON, Utah — Four teenagers are likely to face a variety of felony charges following an armed carjacking Wednesday night in Farmington.

According to Chief Wayne Hansen of the Farmington Police Department, four juvenile males between the ages of 15 and 17, attempted to mug a 17-year-old male from Davis County.

When the victim refused to give them his phone, it turned into an armed carjacking. Hansen says one of the juveniles allegedly pulled a gun on him and demanded his car. 

That’s when Hansen says the teens led police on a chase southbound on I-15. The car then exited the freeway at Parrish Lane in Centerville. It returned to Farmington where the pursuit ended in a dead end on Shepard Lane.

All four teens were taken into custody without incident. The car was returned to its owner undamaged.
