One person killed in wrong-way crash on I-70

GRAND COUNTY, Utah — Authorities are investigating a wrong-way crash that killed one person early Sunday morning near Cisco.
According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred on I-70 at milepost 222 at 1:30 a.m. Authorities say a Kia SUV was driving in the wrong direction of the westbound lanes. It struck a large box truck head-on, with both vehicles catching fire.
The individuals in the box truck suffered serious injuries in escaping the fire from the wrong-way crash. The driver of the Kia SUV died at the scene.
First responders from Colorado and Utah responded to the crash. The westbound portion of I-70 was closed for more than three hours due to the fire. The DPS says the interstate has since been reopened.
The victim has been identified as Jody M. Love, 43, of Ferguson, North Carolina.
