TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — A house fire Sunday afternoon in Tooele County has sent one person to the hospital.
According to North Tooele Fire District Chief Randy Willden, first responders received a call of a structure fire around 4 p.m.
When emergency personnel arrived on scene, there was a heavy fire coming from the structure.
Willden says three people lived in the house. However, only one person was at home at the time of the fire. That person had attempted to put the fire out. Willden says the person was suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the University of Utah Burn Center. The extent of the victim’s injuries are not known.
Crews from North Tooele Fire District and Grantsville City Fire responded to the Tooele County house fire. Willden says there was a brief delay in getting water.
According to Willden, the home “is probably a total loss.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
