SALT LAKE CITY — Drivers in northern Utah have faced tough commutes recently due to low temperatures and bouts of snow. Utahns will have yet another snowy commute ahead of them by Friday morning.

KSL Meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke told Utah’s Morning News that Utahns will need to worry about the wind before they worry about snowfall.

Wind speeds might reach up to 50 or 55 mph Thursday according to Van Dyke.

“Make sure you tie down or secure your outdoor holiday decorations,” Van Dyke advised.

For the snow, Van Dyke said it would begin coming down around midnight Thursday. The snowfall will be active through the night into 7 a.m Friday.

“Probably get up a little bit earlier because you’re gonna be right in the thick of it,” Van Dyke advised drivers who have early-morning commutes.

Van Dyke said there would be showers on and off from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.

Van Dyke estimated that the Wasatch Front would see about three to four inches of snow from this storm.
