SALT LAKE CITY — Utah has been issued a winter storm warning for Wednesday.

KSL-TV meteorologist Kristin Van Dyke says the storm won’t impact the morning commute, at least in the valley.

“Even tomorrow morning’s commute it is looking OK, unless you’re going to be in the mountains,” she said. “Windy and snow developing there.”

Van Dyke says for those in the valley, the snow will hold off until later in the evening between 5 and 7 p.m.

“It all kind of comes in at once,” she said. “And so, there are winter weather advisories for that commute home tomorrow where we could see the snow coming in cause terrible driving conditions.”

Van Dyke says most valley locations could see 1 to 4 inches of snow. As part of the winter storm warning, she also says the mountains could get up to a foot of snow or more.

According to Van Dyke, the storm will be gone by early Thursday morning.

With new snow on its way, the colder temperatures are likely to stick around for a bit longer.

According to KSL meteorologist Matt Johnson, the coldest night of the past week was Sunday at 12 degrees. However, the windchill made it feel much colder.

Overnight lows are expected to drop back into the teens on Thursday and Friday of this week.
