Man critically injured in Salt Lake City shooting

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday at 1413 South 1200 West around 6:41 P.M. The incident left a man critically injured.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the victim lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Police quickly responded and provided life-saving measures.
Initially, the injuries did not seem life-threatening. However, hospital staff downgraded the victim’s condition to critical.
Officers locked down the surrounding neighborhood to locate the shooter. Police detained one person; however, they determined that the person was not involved. SLCPD’s K-9 Squad and detectives have been called to assist in the investigation.
Although some roads near the crime scene are still closed, officers have lifted the lockdown.
