Here’s why Spanish Fork High School was in lockout Thursday morning

SPANISH FORK, Utah — Spanish Fork High School was placed in lockout protocol on Thursday morning, because of a fight and the possibility of a gun.
The Spanish Fork Police said three teens went to the school and started a fight with a student on campus.
Spanish Fork Police Lt. Cade Harding said that, during the fight, one of the boys looked like he was grabbing for a firearm.
“We don’t have any witnesses that actually saw a firearm. And we don’t have video footage that shows the actual firearm,” said Harding.
“Right now we’re still investigating that.”
Even just the possibility of a gun at Spanish Fork High was enough to put the school in lockout, meaning, the outside doors were locked while classes continued.
Officials with the school district said the quick police response was encouraging. But the teens had run away by the time the police got there.
Police know all of the people involved and say that an investigation continues.
