SALT LAKE CITY — Downtown Salt Lake City will be buzzing this weekend. Over 100,000 visitors are expected to come in for major events like FanX and the Utes football game.

Dee Brewer, Executive Director of the Downtown Alliance, said FanX alone is drawing in 75,000 people. And the Utes game? Over 50,000 people.

Those aren’t the only events taking place this weekend. The Delta Center is hosting a circus, and there will be several shows at all the major theaters like Abravanel Hall and Eccles.

Brewer said weekends like this really bolster the downtown economy and are a great boost for local businesses. She said it will be a lot of fun for everyone, but you’ll want to prepare to ensure the best experience possible.

“Know before you go. Figure out your preferred parking location, and have a plan B,” she said.

If you have a your heart set on a certain restaurant, it also helps to make a reservation.

Even if you’re not attending any of the events, it will be the perfect opportunity for people-watching. From decked-out Utes fans to superhero fans in costumes, a colorful cast of characters will fill the whole town.
