‘Whiteout’ storm causes multiple vehicle wreck outside Wendover

WENDOVER — A storm that left whiteout conditions caused a multiple vehicle wreck on Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon, according to the Wendover Fire Department.

In a Facebook post from the WFD, the wreck occurred on Interstate 80 at mile marker 32.
The post stated that six vehicles were involved in three separate wrecks.
Multiple injuries were reported, as the patients were treated on-scene by a Wendover ambulance, according to the WFD.
One of the patients was transported back to Salt Lake City for treatment.
The WFD believes the wreck was caused by a “whiteout” storm with icy road conditions.
The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck, as WFD urges drivers to travel carefully and to wear their seatbelts.
