UPDATE: Missing Spanish Fork man found dead

UPDATE: A man who was last seen near Maple Canyon was found dead, Spanish Fork police confirmed on its Facebook page.
On Wednesday, the Spanish Fork Police Department updated its original post regarding Rulon Scott Linford’s disappearance on Aug. 20.
“Shortly after sharing this post of Missing Rulon Linford, Rulon was unfortunately located deceased in the same area he went missing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Linford family at this time,” Spanish Fork police said on Facebook.
SALT LAKE CITY — Police are searching for a man who went missing from his home in Spanish Fork on Aug. 20.
Rulon Scott Linford, 58, was last seen near Maple Canyon in Mapleton wearing khaki shorts and a plaid button-up shirt. Police believe he was on a hike, as he was carrying a small olive-green backpack and trekking poles.
The Spanish Fork Police Department and the Utah County Sheriff’s Department Search & Rescue have searched the area but have not yet found Linford.
Police described Linford as around 6 feet tall and 185 pounds.
