TAYLORSVILLE — Salt Lake Community College reported that a person was stabbed in the back on its Taylorsville Redwood Campus Wednesday evening. Police were still looking for suspects.
The school released a notification to students saying a 16-year-old male was on Community Boulevard on the west side of the campus, and he said he was followed by a white GMC truck with two men inside.
“They jumped out of the truck and stabbed him in the back,” the statement said.
The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and was later released, the Department of Public Safety said.
The school said there were “indications” that the stabbing was gang-related.
The victim reported that the two men in the truck were Hispanic, but a detailed description of the suspects was not available. SLCC asked anybody with information on the stabbing to call its public safety department at 801-957-3800.
