BYU Student raises money with fantasy-style map of Ukraine

PROVO, Utah — A BYU student is helping Ukrainian refugees with a fantasy-style map of Ukraine.
Isaac Dushku calls himself Lord of Maps, or at least that’s the name of his Instagram account where he draws and sells fantasy-style maps.

“For the past two years, I’ve just been drawing maps as fast as I can,” Dushku told KSL NewsRadio.
It started with a map of Utah, and he now has one of every state. He recently drew a map of Africa and said he raised over $10,000 for malaria medication.
Dushku said after that, his fans reached out telling him he should do a fantasy-style map of Ukraine.
“Of course, a lot of people are looking for effective ways to help out with the situation in Ukraine,” Dushku said.
Now he’s raised nearly $1,500 in less than 24 hours. And he said all the money is going to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to help children affected by the refugee crisis in Ukraine.
