SALT LAKE CITY — Lagoon’s newest attraction, Primordial, was voted the #1 New Theme Park Attraction in 2024 by USA Today’s 10 Best Travel Awards.
The list featured some heavy hitters, including Hersheypark’s Wildcat’s Revenge, Seaworld’s Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, and Magic Kingdom’s Tron: Lightcycle/Run.
Primordial is a cutting-edge, 3D interactive attraction with unique features. Eight years in the making, the design process started in 2015.
The result of those eight years is a world record-breaking attraction. The new ride has the tallest vertical drop track and eight possible endings. The ride experience is just under five minutes. This surpasses the duration of comparable attractions like Cannibal, which is about two and a half minutes long.
Lagoon is America’s largest family-owned amusement park. This year, the park will celebrate 138 years of family fun. The amusement park has over 55 rides, a waterpark, a campground, and much more.
