Powder Mountain announces Feb. weekend closures to everyone but season passholders

EDEN, Utah — Powder Mountain is planning to limit who can hit its slopes during one of the busiest times of the season.
The resort is planning to allow only season passholders to use its slopes on weekends this upcoming February. So that’s every Saturday and Sunday.
According to Powder Mountain’s website, not even Ski Utah passes will get you in on these days.
“When we say ‘Escape the Masses,’ we mean it,” the head of the resort Reed Hastings said in a statement to the Salt Lake Tribune. “This new offering is about preserving the core value of the Powder experience (and) providing passholders with unique access to the mountain on the very best days.”
According to the website, $19 night tickets will still be available to anyone looking to ski later in the day, including on the weekends in February. However, single-day tickets will not be valid.
The closure dates include Feb. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23.
At this time, Powder Mountain has no plans to expand this closure to the entire season, according to the website.
“We remain committed to creating an inclusive, yet premium experience for all our guests,” a statement on the website read.
