BRIGHTON, Utah — Solitude Mountain Resort said its newest addition to off-ski-season activities will open on Friday. A press release provided by the resort said The Solitude Bike Park will feature four trails, ranging from easy to advanced.

The Solitude Bike Park was designed by Gravity Logic. The company has assisted several ski resorts and organizations with “creating unique bike park experiences.”

“The Gravity Logic team is known for their attention to detail and exceptional trail work. These four new trails represent the first step in a larger series of downhill mountain bike trails coming to Solitude,” said Tyler Sites, the Solitude Bike Park manager in the press release.

According to a press release from Solitude Mountain Resort, the park will include six miles of downhill trails, two freeride trails, and two technical trails. The resort included the photos above in its press release, showing off its new trails.

All of the terrain will be accessible via the Moonbeam Express chairlift.

The bike park faced construction delays due to lingering snowpack from the 2022/23 ski season. Some sections of the new trails are still under construction, and several trails will include detours while construction crews finish them, according to the press release.

Solitude has said that lift operations staff will be focusing their efforts on completing the Eagle Express Chairlift upgrade. As a result, the Moonbean Express chairlift will operate with one bike carrier for every five lift chairs. Solitude expects to double this capacity for next season.

Grand opening event

The Solitude Bike Park with be open Fridays through Sundays until Oct. 8, conditions permitting. The grand opening will be on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors at the grand opening event can enjoy a DJ and free donuts. More information can be found on the resort’s website.
