SALT LAKE CITY — This morning, the FBI found a suspicious envelope with white powder inside addressed to the Lieutenant Governor’s office. FBI intercepted the letter in Reno, Nevada.

That letter was signed by the so-called “United States Traitor Elimination Army,” according to a statement from the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

In the statement, Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson said this is just part of the latest tactic to threaten election officials.

Utah Democratic Party Chair Diane Lewis released a statement saying she condemns the attempt to intimidate Utah’s election workers.

“The culture of political intimidation, stoked by Donald Trump and his cronies, must end. Election-denying conspiracy theories put us all at risk, and I call on people of all political affiliations to condemn those who spread them,” she said.

Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the threat.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
