PROVO, Utah — Allegiant Air announced Monday that it plans to hire 60 flight attendants at Provo Airport.
The airline plans to use Provo as a new base of operations, beginning Nov. 16.
Over the next few months, the Las Vegas-based airline will conduct several informational sessions Provo. Airline representatives will talk to residents in and around the Provo area about the airline and the advantages of being a flight attendant.
“It is one of the most fulfilling – and fun – careers you can ever have,” said Tracy Tulle, senior vice president of flight crew operations in a news release. “Flight attendants become like their own sort of family. They get to help create an amazing experience for passengers who are going on vacation, and, in return, they get benefits that allow them to travel the world.”
Allegiant Air flights are point-to-point with no layovers or connections, according to a news release. “So, crew members end most of their workdays back at their home base. This makes Allegiant an employer of choice for crew members who want a more balanced work (and) home life.”
The airline began operating out of Provo in 2013. And according to a news release, more than 700,000 passengers have been flown through Provo by the airline.
