SALT LAKE CITY — On Thursday crews began installing new signage at the stadium that is currently Vivint Arena (but will soon be the Delta Center.)
Again.
It’ll take the entire day for the new signage at the home of the Utah Jazz to be completed.
IT’S HAPPENING! New signage for Delta Center is going up today on the @utahjazz arena.
I’m told the signs are getting put in place during the day and will be lit after sunset.@kslnewsradio pic.twitter.com/5jk8h88q0P

Once the sun sets on Thursday, the new sign will go up in lights.
TIME LAPSE: here’s some video of the letters being moved into place from the word Delta on the arena.

At least one fan watching the crew place the new name on the building never really stopped calling the home of the Utah Jazz the Delta Center.
“I think I’ve always sort of referred to it as the Delta Center,” he told KSL Newsradio. “Maybe I’ll correct myself. Maybe not.”
Another fan said he hoped the name change might energize the team toward an NBA championship.
“The new name, the new environment. With support maybe it could help them achieve that goal,” he said. “Ultimately all NBA teams want to win the championship.”
In case there is a question, the new signage is new and not the same as the letters that graced the building in 2006, the last time the Delta Center was the Delta Center — in other words when a naming rights contract expired and was not renewed.
The interior of the building, namely the basketball court, will feature the new name in October.
