SALT LAKE CITY — Middle Eastern restaurant Mazza Cafe has been open for 25 years in Utah, but the owner said they need help to stay open.
Owner Ali Sabbah wrote a letter to customers last week, saying he needed the money to help pay off debt he picked up during the pandemic.

In a little over a week, customers donated more than $100,000 on GoFundMe*, but they need half a million. Sabbah said the money will also be used to increase staff wages and make necessary renovations to the restaurant.
